Artist Statement - For my collection I threw a cylinder, a bowl, and a plate. I then hand drew flowers onto my pieces, once the pieces were bisque fired. This was an inspiration from forestcoceramics. I kind of put my own spin on it by choosing a pink glaze for the color of the flowers. I also included a yellow glaze for the middle of the flowers to make them more realistic. I then took a darker shade of pink glaze and made the edges of the flowers darker. I then took a white glaze and made streaks come out of the flowers then mixed the lighter and darker pink making it a more pleasing color. For one of my last steps, once all of the flower were glazed, I waxed on the flowers.By doing this I made the colors under the wax to stay on and no other color color would cover it. As my last step approached I dipped all of my pieces in a black glaze. I then wiped off the glaze from the waxed parts. Cleaned the bottoms and then I sent them off to be glazed fired.
